Lieutenant Colonel Bart Physioc, Army
Before pursuing a career in vocational ministry, Bart Physioc served as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1976-1979. After leaving active service, he attended Golden Gate Baptist Seminary in Mill Valley, California, receiving a Master’s of Religious Education degree in 1983. Bart then served for three years as student ministry director at the University of Idaho before returning to Golden Gate Seminary in 1986, where he graduated with a Master’s of Divinity degree and Doctor of Ministry degree in 1988. During that time, and in the year following, Bart served as a pastor in the San Francisco Bay Area.
In 1989 Bar Physioc entered the U.S. Army as a chaplain. Since then he has served as Battalion Chaplain with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Brag, NC, as Base Support Chaplain in Darmstadt, Germany, as Hospital and Brigade Chaplain at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, as Brigade Chaplain at Fort Sam Houston, TX, as Hospital Chaplain in Heidelberg, Germany, as Installation Chaplain at Fort Belvoir, VA, and currently as Brigade Chaplain at Fort Jackson, SC.
Captain Kevin H. Chelf, Air Force
Chaplain, Captain Kevin H. Chelf is a Protestant Chaplain for the 20th Fighter Wing, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. He is responsible for providing the opportunity for the free exercise of religion and personal, moral and spiritual growth through worship, religious education, visitation and pastoral care for personnel assigned to 9th Air Force headquarters, 20th Fighter Wing and their 19 squadrons and 24 associated units. He advises commanders on all matters of religion. He took the Word where most needed! Scratch-built dorm-based Bible study…30 Airmen attending monthly and are now life-ready leaders.
Chaplain Chelf was commissioned in 2002 as a chaplain candidate, became an IMA Reserve Chaplain in 2005, and entered active duty in 2006.
Lieutenant Gregorio E. Huerta, Navy
Lt. Huerta graduated from Recruit Training as a Seaman in January 2000, Great Lakes, IL. Upon graduation he was assigned to RP “A” School, Naval Air Station, Meridian Mississippi. He advanced to Petty Officer Third Class in November, 2000. In June, 2004 he applied for and was selected into the Navy Chaplain Corps and received his commission in July 2004.
Chaplain Huerta was assigned to his first tour of duty as a Chaplain to Destroyer Squadron 21, San Diego California. He deployed to the Arabian Sea and served at sea and at shore the Navy personnel of three Destroyers (USS Decatur, USS Howard, USS Preble) and two Frigates (USS Rentz and USS Jarrett). He is currently serving in his second Chaplain tour of duty at the School of Infantry West, Camp Pendleton, CA. While in this tour, Chaplain Huerta has ministered to over 40 thousand Marines in training.
